Patch 10.0.5 updates keep rolling in! On Tuesday, Community Manager Kaivax confirmed that going forward, Epic-quality items that drop from non-boss enemies in Mythic Vault of the Incarnates will be bind-on-equip. This change does not apply to soulbound gear that dropped prior to the update.
Item upgrade changes for War Mode and Primal Storms gear
With the 10.0.5 patch, gear from War Mode and Primal Storms is no longer replaced by trading it in and using upgrade currency at vendors. Instead, this gear will be upgradeable at Conquest, Honor, and Value upgrade NPCs for a more consistent experience.
Gear obtained while a player was at level 70 prior to the patch will remain upgradeable, but War Mode gear that was acquired pre-level 70 and before the patch went live will not be upgradeable.
Drakebreaker’s Breastplate bugfix
Patch 10.0.5 also updated the price of Drakebreaker’s Breastplate in order to make pricing consistent with the other chest pieces. The price to upgrade has changed from seven Trophies of Strife to 10 Trophies of Strife.
Bind-on-Equip Items from Mythic Raid in Early Season 1
With today’s 10.0.5 patch,
- Epic items that have a chance to drop off of non-boss enemies in Mythic Vault of the Incarnates are now bind-on-equip.
Please note that the second adjustment will not change already-acquired soulbound gear back into Bind-on-Equip. After that time, only new drops will be BoEs.
Changes in 10.0.5 to Item Upgrades
We have a few adjustments to item upgrades in patch 10.0.5 that we want to outline and clarify.
War Mode and Primal Storms gear are no longer upgraded by trading gear and upgrade currency (Trophies of Strife, Storm Sigils) at the previous vendors (Malicia in the Gladiator’s Refuge and Rethelshi in the Sapphire Enclave). These items now use the other item upgrade vendors that Valor, Honor, and Conquest gear have used, such as Corxian in the Gladiator’s Refuge.
War Mode and Primal Storms gear obtained at level 70 prior to this patch will still be upgradeable. However, War Mode gear obtained pre-level 70, before the patch, will not be upgradeable.
- New pre-level 70 gear obtained after the 10.0.5 patch went live will be upgradeable.
There’s a bug fix in patch 10.0.5 to The Drakebreaker’s Breastplate. Before 10.0.5, it incorrectly cost 7 Trophies of Strife to upgrade. It now costs 10 Trophies of Strife to upgrade. This was done to make it consistent with other chest pieces.
