Guild Name Changes Will Be Sold For Gold & Retired From Blizzard Shop

Starting on April 22nd, players will be able to purchase guild name changes using in-game gold in The War Within. Guild name changes will be available from Guild Masters in major cities and will cost 200,000 gold. When this change goes live, the Guild Name Change service will be removed from the Blizzard shop.

Currently, Guild Name Changes are $20 in the Shop, the same price as a WoW Token. WoW Token value fluctuates, but they currently average around 250,000 gold on US realms. Guild Name Changes should therefore still be obtainable with real-world money by purchasing a WoW Token instead.

This announcement may have also given us a likely launch date for Patch 11.1.5, which is currently on the PTR. April 22nd would make sense since the patch contains an update for the Children’s Week holiday, which begins on April 28th.
